First Light Trees Hamsa Pendant Necklace

    Unit price  per

This exclusive First Light design captures the magical promise of the moments just before dawn in the Pacific Northwest, framed by our century-old pine trees with flecks of the day’s awakening colors. Pine trees—Evergreens-- are a beautiful symbol of resilience and wisdom in any language, and the ever-green and blue turquoise is a universal color of hope.

The Hamsa, also known as the Khamsa, is a palm-shaped amulet popular throughout the Middle East, the Maghreb, and many religions and cultures around the world. When pointing down, the open hand is believed to offer prosperity and bestow blessings. When fingers are pointing up, it serves as the universal sign for “stop” and directs negativity away. The Hamsa often features an eye in the palm, to ward off jealousy, envy, and the evil eye.  These hamsas, however, do not feature the eye, so others may get envious of your necklace. So be sure to customize some for your friends, too.

Each piece of jewelry is one-of-a-kind, with small batches of similar styles crafted by hand using local clay. Our pottery studio is located on a century-old farmstead in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where it is always Christmas morning. The pendant measures approximately 1.75 inches, and comes on a 20-inch long waxed cord with silver-colored findings.  A longer, 24” cord is available upon request.
